Ex-husband of former Russian state TV employee who protested war on air sues to terminate her parental rights

A Moscow court has registered a lawsuit seeking to terminate the parental rights of Marina Ovsyannikova, the former employee of the Russian state TV network Channel One who ran on stage with an anti-war banner during a live broadcast in 2022.
The suit was filed by Ovsyannikova’s ex-husband, Russia Today employee Igor Ovsyannikov. The former couple have one son and one daughter together.
In January 2023, the same court partially satisfied a lawsuit Ovsyannikov filed to cancel his ex-wife’s residence permit. Additionally, a different Moscow court ruled that Ovsyannikova is required to pay child support to Ovsyannikov and that their daughter must live with her father.
