Sergey Aksyonov, the head of Russia’s Crimean Republic, says the 228-billion-ruble ($2.8-billion) Crimean Bridge (for which President Putin recently awarded Arkady Rotenberg a national labor medal) is creating problems for the peninsula’s fight against the spread of coronavirus. Aksyonov says it’s impossible to conduct thorough examinations of everyone entering Crimea via the bridge. As of March 19, officials in Crimea had not confirmed a single case of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
