In Russia’s Volgograd region, debris from Ukrainian drones that attacked the area fell on the grounds of Lukoil’s Volgograd Oil Refinery, sparking a fire, Governor Andrey Bocharov said. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.

The Volgograd airport temporarily restricted arrivals and departures overnight.

This was the second consecutive night of drone strikes on the region. The previous night, debris from a drone fell onto the roof of a 16-story apartment building. Local Telegram channels also reported that drones were “flying toward the oil refinery.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defense systems “intercepted and destroyed” nine drones over the Volgograd region. In total, Ukraine launched 44 drones overnight, mostly targeting Russia’s border regions, the ministry said.
