Russian rapper who attended ‘almost naked’ party reportedly served with military summons

Russian rapper Vacio (Nikolai Vasiliev), who served 15 days in jail (before being sentenced to another 10 days) for attending TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva’s “almost naked” party in Moscow, has been served with a military summons, reports Moskovsky Komsomolets, citing a member of Russia’s Public Oversight Commission, Alexey Lobarev.

Members of the commission visited Vacio in the Moscow jail where the rapper is currently serving his sentence. According to Lobarev, Vacio told commission members that he regretted his participation in the party and claimed that he was “set up” by unknown young people who tore off his sock (Vacio attended the “almost naked” party with nothing but shoes on his feet and a sock on his penis).

The rapper’s lawyer said that after Vacio completed his initial 15-day detention, he was taken to a military conscription office and served with a summons for January 9. Moskovsky Komsomolets writes that Vacio will still be in jail on the day he is supposed to report for duty and that he previously did not pass a medical examination for military service. Because of this, the publication says, Vacio will unlikely have to serve.

On December 20-21, blogger and TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva hosted an “almost naked” party at Moscow’s “Mutabor” nightclub. Photos and videos from the event, circulated on social media, sparked outrage from conservative activists and pundits, and the party's guests, including actors and musicians, began to apologize for their participation. A court officially recognized the party as “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations.” In addition to two consecutive arrests on misdemeanor charges, Vacio was fined under a charge related to “LGBT propaganda.”
