Update: Moscow’s Lefortovo District Court sentenced Vacio to 10 days in jail for disorderly conduct.
Russian rapper Vacio (Nikolai Vasiliev), who served 15 days in jail for attending TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva’s “almost naked” party in Moscow, has been jailed for a second time on charges of disorderly conduct.
The rapper was set to be released on January 5. However, he was detained at the detention center’s exit and taken to the police station, according to Telegram channels Ostorozhno, Novosti and Baza.
Earlier, there were reports that Vacio had disappeared from the special detention center where he was being held. According to the outlet Sota, the rapper never appeared at the detention center’s exit on January 5, where journalists and friends were waiting for him. He was also unable to be reached by phone. The police reported that Vacio had left the detention center ahead of schedule and that his phone had run out of battery, though he had not made contact with anyone.
On the morning of January 6, the anonymous Telegram channel VChK-OGPU reported that the Internal Affairs Ministry’s department in Moscow transferred materials to the Investigative Committee about opening a case against Nastya Ivleeva and Vacio for coercing people to engage in the activities of an extremist organization.
Vacio, who attended the “almost naked” party with nothing but shoes on his feet and a sock on his penis, was arrested on December 22, 2023. The Moscow court’s press service reported that the rapper had disturbed the peace, used profanities, and spread materials online that were aimed at promoting “non-traditional sexual relations.” He was sentenced to 15 days in jail for disorderly conduct and fined 200,000 rubles ($2,171) for “gay propaganda.”
