Source: Meduza

A court in the Russian city of Bryansk has placed blogger Yevgenia Hoffman, who set her passport on fire outside of a nightclub on New Year’s Eve, under house arrest until February 2. The 22-year-old is also forbidden from using her phone or the Internet.

On January 1, the Russian Investigative Committee announced that it had launched a felony case against Hoffman for desecrating Russia’s coat of arms. In addition, the influencer is facing charges of intentionally harming another person’s health, reportedly due to an incident in which she allegedly broke a friend’s nose in late December.

Hoffman has said she burned her passport because it was expired and because she didn’t like the “ugly photo” of her in it.
