Ukraine identifies Russian soldiers as suspects in murder of Ukrainian POWs filmed by drone

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has identified suspects in the murders of three Ukrainian soldiers who were captured in the country’s Zaporizhzhia region, war crimes investigator Yuriy Belousov reported on Thursday.

According to Belousov, the suspects are soldiers from Russia’s 76th Guards Air Assault Division based in Pskov.

“This division is already known for other war crimes committed in Ukraine — specifically in the Kyiv region,” he told RFE/RL's Ukrainian service, Radio Svoboda.

Drone footage appearing to show the execution of three Ukrainian soldiers surfaced on Telegram earlier this week. The Ukrainian authorities said on Wednesday that they had opened an investigation into a possible violation of the laws and customs of war.
