One of the servicemen of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) was captured during a landing mission in the annexed Crimea, the agency’s spokesman Andriy Yusov confirmed to RBC Ukraine.
On October 4, GUR reported that its spetsnaz troops had successfully landed on the peninsula. In the video published by the agency, an aerial view of several speedboats approaching the shore is followed by a brief appearance of some troops with a Ukrainian state flag. Announcing their successful landing on the Crimean coast, one of them says: “Crimea will be Ukrainian — or else, unpopulated.”
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) also says that a member of the Ukrainian spetsnaz forces has been captured by the Russian side. The Russian secret service published footage of a detainee who introduces himself as Oleksandr Lyubas, 46, and describes himself as a private of the Ukrainian defense intelligence forces.
