Ukraine’s defense intelligence says it carried out drone attack on Russian aircraft plant involved in missile production
Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence reported that it carried out a drone attack on an aircraft plant in the Russian city of Smolensk on October 1. According to the agency’s statement, three out of four drones hit their target.
The agency said the attack “disrupted the process” for manufacturing various versions of Kh-59 missiles and added that the drones caused “significant damage to the production facilities” of the enterprise.
Russia’s Defense Ministry and the Smolensk regional authorities have not yet commented on the reported attack.
On the morning of October 1, Smolensk mayor Alexander Novikov said that five drones were shot down over the city and its suburbs. According to him, there were no casualties. Russia’s Defense Ministry also reported that five drones had been shot down.
