Russian mobilization official Stanislav Rzhitsky killed in Krasnodar
The deputy head of mobilization for Krasnodar, Stanislav Rzhitsky, was killed, report the Telegram channels Shot, Baza, and Mash.
Russian news agency TASS confirmed the reports, citing law enforcement agencies. The Krasnodar administration told RBK media group and Kommersant that Rzhitsky’s death was under investigation.
The 42-year-old Rzhitsky was reportedly shot on the morning of June 10, while he was on a run near the Olympus Arena in Krasnodar. The attacker shot Rzhitsky “in the back and chest” four times, before disappearing. Rzhitsky died at the scene. A criminal case into his murder has been opened.
The Telegram channels report that Rzhitsky was a captain of the second rank. According to the Ukrainian database Myrotvorets, he “directly participates in the military invasion of Ukraine,” and commanded the Alrosa submarine, part of the Black Sea Fleet.
Ukrainian media have included Rzhitsky in a list of Russian submarine captains who have, according to their data, carried out the attack on Vinnytsia on July 14, 2022, which killed 27 people.
