On July 3, the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters reported that there was a traffic jam near the Crimean Bridge in the Temryuk district of the region. The traffic jam is said to be 13 kilometers (eight miles) long.
Doctors and rescue workers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on site. Volunteers are delivering water to people – five tons per day. Bio-toilets have been installed at the entrance to the bridge.
The line started on July 1 at the entrance to the Crimean bridge. By that evening, it had swelled to seven kilometers (almost four and a half miles), and the waiting time for inspection was five hours, said the Ministry of Transportation of annexed Crimea. On the afternoon of July 2, the traffic jam began to increase. Since then, according to official reports, its length has not been less than six kilometers (3.7 miles).
The Federal Road Agency says the appearance of the multi-kilometer traffic jam is due to the increased number of vacationers trying to cross the bridge, as well as the increased luggage inspection that comes with them.
