Ukraine shoots down 25 drones and three cruise missiles launched by Russia
Russian armed forces attacked Ukraine on the night of May 14, reports Ukraine’s Air Force Command. The Ukrainian military said it destroyed three cruise missiles and 25 unmanned aerial vehicles, including 18 Shahed drones.
Ukraine’s Ternopil region was hit by cruise missiles in the overnight attack, reported the region’s governor, Volodymyr Trush. According to him, two dachas were destroyed in the attack. An additional 12 dachas, nine trucks, and several civilian trade and commercial facilities were damaged. No injuries were reported.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff Andriy Yermak published photos of the strikes’ aftermath. “This [attack] took place at the same time as the group Tvorchi, who are from Ternopil, performed at the Eurovision finale,” said Yermak.
Russian forces also attacked Kharkiv, reported the city’s mayor Ihor Terekhov. The mayor stated that no one was injured. Oleh Synyehubov, governor of Kharkiv region, said that the attacks hit transport infrastructure, a dormitory, and an apartment building.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, Russia’s armed forces attacked deployment points for Ukraine’s military units. They also attacked locations in the Dnipropetrovsk region and in the Ternopil region where Western weapons are stored, reported Interfax.
