Russia confirms 7,933 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s official count to more than 114,000

On the morning of May 1, Russian officials announced that the country recorded 7,933 new coronavirus infections in the past day (there were 7,099 new cases than the day before), bringing the nation’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 114,431 patients.
Another 96 people reportedly died from the disease, raising Russia’s total number of fatalities caused by COVID-19 to 1,169. As many as 13,220 people in Russia are known to have recovered fully from the disease, including 1,601 in the past day.
Russia says it’s conducted more than 3.7 million coronavirus tests, so far, including 225,400 in the past day.
