A local court has ruled to keep a 21-year-old woman in custody for 10 days for twerking in front of a World War II monument in a YouTube video. She has been charged with hooliganism.

The video of four young women twerking in the city of Pochepa (in Russia's Bryansk region) was uploaded to YouTube earlier this month. The video shows the women twerking in public at various sites throughout the city, including in front of a World War II monument.

The 21-year-old woman who was charged with hooliganism was the oldest of the group. Two of the others were 15 years old, and one was 12. The mothers and fathers of the minors have been fined for parental negligence.

According to the news agency TASS, the schools where the young women are enrolled were inspected after the incident, and authorities determined that the level of patriotic education was unsatisfactory at these institutions.

The father on one of the women, who held a leadership position at a local military base, filed a statement on transferring to another region. The schools where the women were enrolled have been inspected. The district attorney has determined that educational and patriotic mentoring was not conducted at a satisfactory level there. Five authorities have been disciplined.

Earlier, it was reported that an Army major at a Russian military base in the Bryansk region was forced to file for a transfer to another region because his 15-year-old daughter was featured in the twerking video. The girl's father said in an interview with LifeNews that he'd temporarily "excommunicated" her from the Internet and had even taken her to a psychologist. He also said, "I still don't know where I could be transferred, or if I'll be transferred. Maybe we'll just have to move away."
