As Russian and U.S. delegations met in Riyadh, Moscow launched a missile strike on Ukraine’s Sumy, injuring over 100 civilians
On Monday, the Russian military launched a missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy, a regional center less than 20 miles from the border with Russia’s Kursk region. The strike hit a residential area, damaging civilian infrastructure, including a school and multiple apartment buildings. According to the local authorities, 101 people were injured, including 23 children; 16 adults and 14 children were hospitalized. Local journalists reported that no air raid alert had been issued in Sumy at the time of the attack. The strike came the same day as the latest round of talks between U.S. and Russian delegations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
