Russian strike on Ukraine’s Sumy injures at least 88, including 17 children

Update: At least 101 people were injured by Russia’s strike on Sumy, including 23 children, according to the local authorities.

Russian forces carried out a missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy on Monday, the regional military administration reported.

According to local authorities, the attack hit residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including a school. “The children were in a shelter. They’re now being evacuated, and all are safe,” said Sumy Regional Administration head Volodymyr Artyukh.

Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar reported that 28 people were injured, including four children.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the attack.
