Another weekend of war Russian bomb destroys cancer hospital in Kherson, Ukrainian drones hit Kazan apartments

Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange drone strikes and airstrikes. On Friday, December 20, both the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and the Russian town of Rylsk in the Kursk region came under fire. Later, during the night, Russian bombs hit a cancer treatment center in the Ukrainian city of Kherson. Staff and patients were in a shelter at the time and no one was harmed, but the building was severely damaged. Other airstrikes in Kherson struck apartment buildings and infrastructure, killing at least one person and injuring ten others.

The attacks continued on December 21, when Ukrainian drones targeted the Russian city of Kazan. Six of the eight drones hit apartment buildings, one struck an industrial facility — though local authorities said it missed its intended target — and another was shot down over a river. Officials reported no injuries or fatalities in Kazan, though the Telegram channel Shot claimed that three people sustained minor lacerations.

Meduza shares images showing the aftermath of the attacks on Kazan and the oncology center in Kherson.
