At least 32 people detained across Russia in protests against war and in honor of Navalny

At least 32 people were detained at various demonstrations across Russia, reports human rights advocacy group OVD-Info.

Demonstrators were detained in nine Russian cities: Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kursk, Moscow, Murmansk, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Stary Oskol, and Ufa.

27 people were detained while laying flowers in memory of Alexey Navalny, three at protests against the war, and two at a demonstration organized by soldiers’ wives calling for an end to mobilization. Among those detained were four journalists. In at least three departments, the detainees had their phones taken away, notes OVD-Info.

Several activists attempting to take a picture with a portrait of Navalny were detained at a monument to the Victims of Political Repressions in Novosibirsk, reports Telegram channel Sirena.

February 24 marked the two-year anniversary of the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion and the ninth day since Navalny’s death.
