Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk region has now entered its fourth day. Commenting on the situation, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that its troops were “thwarting attempts by enemy units to carry out raids deep into Russian territory” and confirmed that battles are ongoing outside the town of Sudzha. Local residents have directly appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin for help, and officials have declared a state of emergency in the region.
