A rehearsal for Moscow’s 75th anniversary parade honoring the Soviet Union’s victory in World War II took place in the city center on the evening of June 17th. The rehearsal was the first large-scale public event in the city after the partial lifting of quarantine restrictions introduced during the coronavirus pandemic. Many streets in downtown Moscow were blocked off because of the rehearsal, causing high-volume traffic jams (the app “Yandex.Traffic” rated them a 9 out of 10). Rehearsals are also scheduled for June 18th and 20th, while the parade itself will take place on June 24th.
