On June 8, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced the end of the capital’s self-isolation regime ahead of schedule. According Meduza’s
sources in the government
, quarantine restrictions were lifted in an attempt to improve the outcome of the July 1 plebiscite on constitutional amendments, following a conversation between Sobyanin and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
