Russia adds two unregistered antiwar opposition parties to its ‘foreign agents’ list
Russia’s Justice Ministry has added the unregistered opposition parties Mirnaya Rossiya and Rassvet to its register of “foreign agents.”
Politician Ilya Yashin founded Mirnaya Rossiya while in exile. Journalist Yekaterina Duntsova, who previously tried to run for president of Russia, founded Rassvet in Tver.
The ministry also added the following to the list:
- Feminist activist Leda Garina
- Commentator Boris Grozovsky
- Human rights activist Nikolai Rodkin
- Poet Galina Rymbu
- Journalist Murat Temirov
- Media outlet Razoblacheno
The ministry alleged that those newly listed had spread false information about Russian government policies and spoken out against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
