Russian singer Oleg Gazmanov’s former manager Dmitry Tsarenko sentenced to seven years for fraud in second conviction

Moscow’s Khoroshevsky District Court sentenced Oleg Gazmanov’s former manager Dmitry Tsarenko to seven years in a penal colony.

Tsarenko was accused of fraud. According to Kommersant, the Russian business daily, investigators found that he funneled proceeds from the singer’s concerts through his own sole proprietorship rather than through Gazmanov’s company, OMG-Promo.

According to the Russian business outlet RBC, the case included 17 counts of fraud, with damages estimated at 15.3 million rubles. The court also granted a civil suit seeking to compel Tsarenko to pay Gazmanov 15 million rubles.

Tsarenko did not admit guilt, and his defense argued in court that he had acted in Gazmanov’s interests. Gazmanov, for his part, said he was unaware of the scheme involving the sole proprietorship. Prosecutors asked the court to sentence Tsarenko to nine years in prison.

According to the Telegram channel Mash, Tsarenko wept during his final statement and thanked his family and friends for their support.

It is not Tsarenko’s first fraud conviction, according to Kommersant: the Dmitrov City Court, in the Moscow region, sentenced him in April 2025 to four years in a general-regime penal colony and ordered him to pay 10.4 million rubles to OMG-Promo.

Producer Filipp Rossa, who worked with Gazmanov, is also implicated in the case, accused of embezzling 12 million rubles owed to the singer as compensation for granting third parties rights to his works. Rossa remains in custody; a court extended his detention in early August, even though, as was announced at the hearing, Gazmanov himself had asked for the producer to be released from the pretrial detention center.
