Russian tech company VK sues Apple in Moscow court over removal of its apps from App Store
VK has sued Apple in the Moscow Arbitration Court, the Russian news agency Interfax reported.
The Russian company is demanding that Apple restore its apps to the App Store and reinstate users’ ability to receive notifications from them.
If the court’s ruling goes unenforced, VK is demanding that Apple pay a penalty.
On June 25, Apple removed all apps made by the Russian holding company VK from its App Store. The American company cited sanctions as the reason for the move. The removed apps include the messenger Max, Zen, Odnoklassniki, VKontakte, VK Video, and others. VK’s apps were soon removed from Google Play as well.
