Russia’s only officially recognized maker of domestically produced TVs declared bankrupt

A Moscow arbitration court has declared Kvant LLC — the legal entity behind the television-manufacturing Kvant group of companies — bankrupt, the Russian business daily Kommersant reported, citing court records.

A division of the DNS group filed the bankruptcy petition in June 2025, citing a debt of 654.6 million rubles. Twenty-four more creditors have since joined the case, including a division of Yandex, Alice Lab LLC.

Kvant’s plant in Voronezh was the only Russian manufacturer of domestically produced televisions listed in the registry of Russian radio-electronic products, which is maintained by the Industry and Trade Ministry.

Kvant was registered in June 2016 in Zelenograd. The company produced televisions under the Russian brand Irbis at its plants in Zelenograd and Voronezh. In April 2025, it halted television assembly, citing “low demand” and “lengthy paperwork required for inclusion in the Industry and Trade Ministry’s registry,” according to the Russian business daily Kommersant. Market participants said at the time that other domestic television manufacturers would be unable to meet the requirements for government procurement.

Kvant considered selling itself as one option for saving the company, according to Kommersant, which named NexTouch, Sberbank, and Yandex as potential buyers.
