A Ukrainian drone strike on Rostov-on-Don overnight on July 27 killed a husband and wife and injured five other people, including a teenager, Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar said.
The drones struck the city’s Zheleznodorozhny, Proletarsky, and Leninsky districts, sparking fires at a private enterprise, several warehouses, and multiple private homes. Several cars also caught fire. Windows were shattered in a number of private homes, on the upper floors of an apartment building, and at a social services facility.
Photos and video from eyewitnesses show the drone struck one of the city’s apartment buildings, damaging several units. Local authorities said residents of the affected building in the Proletarsky district were evacuated.
The independent Telegram channel Astra, citing eyewitness footage, reported that smoke was rising over the Rostov port.
Ukrainian drones also struck other Russian regions overnight on July 27. In Belgorod, the attack hit the city center, damaging residential buildings. Local authorities said 12 people were injured.
