The Kremlin says Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace,” a newly announced international body meant to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction and address other global crises.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the invitation was delivered through diplomatic channels and that Moscow is currently reviewing the proposal. “At the moment, we are studying all the details and, among other things, are hoping for contacts with the American side to clarify all the nuances,” he said.

On January 16, the White House announced that the Board of Peace will be chaired by Trump and include U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair. According to the administration, countries will be required to pay $1 billion for lifetime membership.
