Russian drone hits Ukrainian naval ship, killing at least one and injuring several others

Russian forces struck a Ukrainian naval ship on Thursday, killing at least one person and injuring several others, according to the Ukrainian military.

“Most of the crew is safe, and the search continues for several sailors,” said Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces used a naval drone to target and sink the Simferopol, a Ukrainian reconnaissance vessel, near the mouth of the Danube River.

Ukraine has not confirmed whether the ship was sunk or released further details about the incident.
