Ukraine’s Ground Forces Command said a Russian missile strike hit one of its training units, killing a soldier and wounding others.
In a statement issued on the morning of August 12, the Ground Forces said a missile alert had been sounded, but “despite the safety measures taken, during the movement to equipped shelters and bunkers, a group of servicemen was caught in the blast zone of cluster munitions.”
As of 9:00 a.m. local time, one soldier was confirmed dead and 11 others had been injured, some seriously. Another 12 people sought medical attention for concussions and acute stress, the statement said.
