Russian forces dropped aerial bombs early Wednesday morning on the grounds of a resort in a town in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, according to local authorities and Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

According to preliminary reports, two people were killed and at least 12 others were injured, including two children. A fire broke out, damaging cars and nine guest cottages.

“There is zero military purpose to this strike. Only cruelty, meant to intimidate,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said. He also reported that, overnight, Russian forces struck power grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region; attacked a gas distribution station in the Odesa region, leaving hundreds without gas; and targeted civilians and homes in the Kherson, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions.

According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, beginning on Tuesday evening, Russian forces launched 45 drones at Ukraine, including Shahed‑type drones and decoy UAVs. Ukrainian troops shot down 36 over the north, south, and east of the country.

“No matter what the Kremlin says, they will only truly seek to end this war when they feel real pressure,” Zelensky added, urging the United States and Europe to step up pressure on Russia.
