Russia’s flagship airline, Aeroflot, said on Monday morning that a failure in its information systems had disrupted operations.

“As a result, adjustments to the flight schedule are expected, including delays and cancellations,” the airline said in a statement.

Aeroflot added that it was working to “minimize disruptions to the flight operations plan” and to restore services as quickly as possible.

Rossiya and Pobeda — two carriers that, along with Aeroflot, make up Russia’s largest airline group — did not report any issues.

In 2024, the three airlines carried 55.3 million passengers and accounted for 42.3 percent of the Russian air travel market, according to Kommersant. That year, Aeroflot and Rossiya operated a combined network of 248 scheduled routes, while Pobeda served 94 destinations.

In recent weeks, Russia has faced frequent flight disruptions due to Ukrainian drone attacks. Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, Aeroflot’s main hub, has repeatedly restricted operations in response to potential drone threats.
