Update: One of the victims — a 65-year-old man — has died in the hospital, bringing the death toll from the overnight attack to three, Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported.
Russian forces launched an overnight drone strike on the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, killing two people and injuring dozens others, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
He said a total of 17 drones targeted two districts — Slobidskyi and Osnovyanskyi.
“There were direct hits on apartment buildings, private homes, playgrounds, businesses, and public transportation,” the mayor said.
Governor Oleh Syniehubov later reported that 60 people had been wounded, including nine children.
Russian forces also struck Ukraine’s Odesa region overnight, damaging or destroying private homes, outbuildings, and passenger vehicles. No injuries were reported, according to the State Emergency Service.
