Vladislav Loginov, the mayor of Krasnoyarsk, has been arrested on suspicion of accepting a bribe on an especially large scale, according to reports from TASS, RIA Novosti, and the local news outlet NGS24, all citing sources.
Searches are reportedly underway at City Hall and at Loginov’s residence, NGS24 said. No further details about the case have been made public. The regional office of the Investigative Committee has not commented on the arrest.
The regional branch of the LDPR party called the arrest “not a surprise, but the logical outcome” of the policies pursued by Loginov and his inner circle. The party noted it had previously called for his resignation, accusing him of involvement in “corruption scandals related to road repair contracts,” “murky schemes,” and inaction in the face of “systemic problems.”
Loginov, 58, was born in Achinsk, in Krasnoyarsk Krai. From 2012 to 2015, he served as deputy head of the city utilities department in the Krasnoyarsk administration and later led several district administrations. He became first deputy mayor in November 2017 and was appointed mayor in September 2022.
