Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhael Brodsky confirmed in an interview released on June 8 that Israel has transferred Patriot air defense missile systems to Ukraine. The weapons were in service with the Israeli Defense Forces in the 1990s.

“The Patriot systems that we once received from the United States are now in Ukraine. These are Israeli systems that were in service with Israel in the early 1990s. We agreed to transfer them to Ukraine. Unfortunately, not much has been said about this. But when people say that Israel didn’t help militarily, that's not true. That's false,” the diplomat told blogger Marychka Dovbenko.

In June 2024, sources told The Financial Times that Israel, the United States, and Ukraine were in talks about supplying Patriot systems to the Ukrainian army. According to the newspaper, Israel was prepared to transfer up to eight air defense systems to Ukraine.
