Russian forces launched an overnight attack on Kyiv using ballistic missiles and drones, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the strike killed four people and injured 16 others.

Ukraine’s interior minister, Ihor Klymenko, said three emergency workers were killed while responding to one of the strikes. “They were working under fire to help people,” he wrote. Nine other rescue workers were wounded, he added.

Klymenko gave a different casualty count from Klitschko, reporting three people killed and around 40 injured in total.

According to the State Emergency Service, the attack sparked a fire on the 11th floor of a 16-story residential building in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district. Another fire broke out at a civilian facility in the Holosiivskyi district.
