Russia and the U.S. have begun their latest round of diplomatic talks in Istanbul, according to Russian state media. The negotiations reportedly started at 10:00 a.m. Moscow time at the Russian consulate in Istanbul.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said earlier this week that the talks would be dedicated to normalizing the operations of the countries’ diplomatic missions.
The Russian delegation is led by Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Alexander Darchiyev, while the U.S. delegation is headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Coulter.
