The content of the U.S.-Russia talks held on March 24 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will not be made public, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday, according to Russian state media.

“These were technical negotiations that involved a deep dive into details, so naturally, their content will not be disclosed. That should not be expected,” Peskov stated in response to a question about whether a public statement would follow the talks.

According to Peskov, reports from the discussions are currently “being analyzed.” “Only later will it be possible to speak of any understandings,” he added.

Earlier, CBS News, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that a statement on the outcome of the talks was expected at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time. Reuters, meanwhile, reported that a “positive announcement” was expected, with a Russian source telling the agency that a draft joint statement had been sent to Moscow and Washington for approval.

The negotiations between the Russian and U.S. delegations, which lasted the entire day on March 25, concluded around 11:00 p.m. Moscow time. Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov had previously stated that the talks would focus on the possible revival of the Black Sea Grain Initiative that lasted from July 2022 until July 2023, when Russia chose not to extend it.
