Russia agrees to help U.S. in negotiations with Tehran over Iranian nuclear program — Bloomberg

The Kremlin has agreed to help the U.S. in negotiations with Iran, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources. These talks involve Iran’s nuclear program as well as the country’s support for anti-American proxy forces in the Middle East.

According to Bloomberg, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed interest in having Moscow mediate during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 12. Representatives of the two countries also discussed the issue during talks in Riyadh a few days later, the outlet’s sources said.

The White House did not respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment. Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Moscow is “ready to do everything in its power” to help Washington and Tehran resolve their issues through negotiations.
