Russian forces carried out a “massive strike” on the energy system of Ukraine’s Kharkiv region on the evening of February 27, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said. He did not specify which facilities were hit.

“Ukraine’s air defense forces are operating in an enhanced mode to protect the region. All relevant services are working to mitigate the consequences,” he said.

Earlier that evening, Syniehubov reported that at least 12 Russian drones had targeted Kharkiv and its surrounding areas. Three people were injured, he said.
