On February 24, the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, leaders of Ukraine’s key allies arrived in Kyiv.

Among them were European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa.

“We are in Kyiv today, because Ukraine is Europe. In this fight for survival, it is not only the destiny of Ukraine that is at stake,” von der Leyen wrote.

The visiting leaders were welcomed by Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian president's office.

At a press conference on February 23, President Volodymyr Zelensky said leaders from 13 countries would be in Kyiv for the anniversary, while 24 others would take part in the summit online. Talks, he said, would focus on Ukraine’s strategy, as well as security guarantees.
