At least 17 reportedly killed in Russian attack on Ukraine’s Chernihiv

Update: At least 17 people were killed and another 60 were injured in the missile attack, according to the latest data from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. Three children are among the injured.

A Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv killed at least 13 people on Wednesday, reports Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. Another 60 people were injured.

Vyacheslav Chaus, the region’s governor, wrote that Russia launched three missiles at the city’s center. Chernihiv’s acting mayor, Oleksandr Lomako, said the attack hit a multi-story building.

Russian troops have been attacking Ukrainian territory daily with drones and missiles. In recent weeks, as reported by CNN, the Russian military has begun employing new tactics to target energy infrastructure, with attacks becoming more focused and intense.
