Former Wagner Group fighter recruited from prison reportedly shoots man in St. Petersburg restaurant, then continues eating

A former Wagner Group fighter who was recruited by the mercenary outfit from prison reportedly shot his business associate at point blank range at a St. Petersburg restaurant on Monday before continuing to his meal.

The murder was captured by security cameras in the establishment. Footage published by the news outlet Bumaga shows a man pulling out a gun and shooting the man sitting across from him. The victim jumps up before falling to the floor. The shooter then walks over and shoots the man several more times before returning to the table and eating his meal.

The news site Fontanka reported that the man is Alexey Isakov, a 40-year-old former Wagner Group member who was in prison for theft before going to Ukraine. According to the outlet, he claimed that the man whom he shot owed him seven million rubles ($76,000). Isakov was reportedly arrested shortly after the incident.
