In Moscow, mourners continue to lay flowers at Alexey Navalny’s grave in the Borisovskoye Cemetery, according to a live broadcast by Navalny’s associates.

The cemetery was supposed to close at 5:00 p.m. local time, but two hours later, it’s still open. People were granted entry into the cemetery after Navalny’s grave was fully covered.

Independent news outlet Mediazona, citing its correspondent, reports that a police officer at the entrance to the cemetery announced that groups of 50 people would be permitted in the area of the grave. Another police officer said that “people would be allowed in the cemetery” even though it’s closed.

According to outlet 7x7, a massive line formed at the cemetery’s entrance.

Those who didn’t make it to the cemetery are setting up makeshift memorials nearby, writes journalist Vasily Polonsky.
