Putin says Russia’s minimum wage should reach 35,000 rubles (equivalent to $385) per month, nearly twice its current level, by 2030
During his address to Russia’s Federal Assembly on Thursday, Vladimir Putin said the country’s federal minimum wage should increase to 35,000 rubles ($385) per month by 2030.
“Since 2020, the minimum wage has increased by half — from 12,000 rubles to 19,000 rubles per month. By 2030, the minimum wage should nearly double — to 35,000 rubles,” said Putin.
Russia’s current federal minimum wage is 19,242 rubles ($211) per month. It increased by 18.5 percent from the start of 2023 to the start of 2024.
