Alexey Navalny’s mother, Lyudmila Navalnaya, has released a video statement addressed to Vladimir Putin. The clip was recorded outside of the prison in northern Russia where Navalny died.
“It’s the fifth day that I’ve been unable to see him. They won’t give me his body or even tell me where it is,” Navalnaya says in the video. She continues:
I’m speaking to you, Vladimir Putin. Solving this matter depends solely on you. Let me finally see my son. I demand that you immediately hand over Alexey’s body so I can bury him properly.
