More than 12,000 people have sent appeals to Russia’s Investigative Committee demanding that Alexey Navalny’s body be released to his family, reports the human rights project OVD-Info.

"Only solidarity can help get justice for Alexey Navalny and his family now. Yesterday, OVD-Info started collecting appeals to the Investigative Committee. Together, we’re demanding the release of Alexey's body. In less than 24 hours, over 12,000 people submitted appeals,” reads a post on the project’s Telegram channel.

OVD-Info emphasized that Navalny’s body should be handed over to his family as soon as possible so that he can be with them “at least after death.” The project also called for an immediate investigation into his death.
