Zelensky names new deputies to freshly appointed AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Saturday that Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi and Colonel Andriy Lebedenko have been appointed as deputies to new Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Zelensky said Sukharevskyi will focus on unmanned systems and the development of drone use by Ukrainian troops, while Lebedenko will concentrate on innovation in the army’s combat systems and technology.

Additionally, Zelensky appointed new deputies to the AFU’s chief of general staff: Brigadier General Volodymyr Horbatiuk (responsible for operational work, staff work, and planning), Brigadier General Oleksiy Shevchenko (responsible for logistics), and Brigadier General Mykhailo Drapatyi (responsible for the training and preparation of military personnel).
