Zelensky appoints Ihor Plahuta as new commander of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces
On February 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Ihor Plahuta as the new commander of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces.
Previously, Anatolii Barhylevych, who was recently appointed as the new chief of the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, held the position.
As noted by the Ukrainian news outlets Ukrainska Pravda and Hromadske, Ihor Plahuta led Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry troops during the dispersal of the Euromaidan protests in Kyiv in 2013.
