The roof of a six-story apartment building in Moscow’s Aeroport district caught fire late Thursday, reports TASS. Over 400 people had to be evacuated. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that firefighters were “taking all measures” to extinguish the fire and that evacuated residents were being provided with all necessary assistance.

The roof of the building began to collapse in the blaze, reported TASS. According to the Telegram channel Baza, the fire also spread to a neighboring building. The Telegram channel 112 wrote that people were calling for help from the building’s windows.

By the early hours of Friday, the fire had been localized with the help of helicopter crews.  By 5 a.m. Moscow time, emergency services successfully extinguished the fire. There have been no reports of casualties yet.
