Russian opposition politician Vladimir Kara-Murza has reportedly been transferred out of the penal colony in the city of Omsk where he has been held since September 2023 to an unknown location.

In a Facebook post published on Monday, human rights activist Alexander Podrabinek said that after sending Kara-Murza a letter, he received a notification that it could not be delivered because “the addressee has departed for a different institution.”

Vladimir Kara-Murza is serving a 25-year prison sentence for charges related to his statements opposing the war in Ukraine.
